If You Want to Change Anything, Focus on These 3 Things
We all want more of something: more love, more abundance, more influence, more joy, more peace, more harmony. Yet, to get more of anything, you must first have one particular thing.
Power.
Now, power is very complicated. It can mean different things to different people and take on many different forms.
What are some of the aspects of power?
Power is an ability.
Power is a capacity.
Power is an authority.
Power is a state.
Power is potential.
Power is a force.
Power is energy.
Power can be granted.
Power can be created.
Power can be generated.
Power can be allowed.
Power can be denied.
Power can be abused.
Power can be destructive.
Too little power is weak and too much power is destructive.
The question then becomes, to get more of anything, how does one harness and generate power as an individual without being abusive or destructive?
We harness and generate power without being abusive or destructive when we stay empowered.
Being empowered is the feeling of standing firmly in the truth of yourself. This is True Power.
True Power does require that anyone else bend to your will.
True Power does not assert.
True Power does not manipulate.
True Power does not control.
True Power is the relinquishing of control, of the need to control anyone or anything other than yourself.
True Power is giving up on defense. There is nothing to defend.
True Power is informed by choice. The choice is given to all freely.
True Power does not rank. Even when operating within hierarchies, True Power sees oneself as an equal participant. Authority may be granted to one or many by the collective, but True Power does not abuse authority, but rather, sees it as a means to an end. Authority is utilized only when absolutely necessary to achieve the best outcome for the collective.
How does one generate, harness, and maintain True Power?
True Power requires these three things:
Self-love.
Self-respect.
Self-worth.
True Power is only achieved when you align with yourself, and when you understand that all power is internally based. No one can give you True Power, and no one can take it away.
True Power is in the knowing of who and what you are. You have a right to be seen; you have a right to be heard. You have a right to have an opinion. You have the right to be.
It is only when we value the self that we can then stand securely in our power. Knowing ourselves as valuable, no matter what, is when we are empowered.
If you want to change anything in your life, focus all of your energy and efforts on increasing the following three things:
Self-love.
Self-respect.
Self-worth.
If we want to change the world, we need to put all of our energy and focus on teaching these three things:
Self-love.
Self-respect.
Self-worth.
There are many paths to self-love, self-respect, and self-worth. For me, that path includes a combination of spirituality, psychology, and science. If you feel dis-empowered in any aspect of your life, I encourage you to find the teachings and the path that resonates with you.
It has been a journey for me to find my way to this triune of self. I have gone from wanting to die to thriving at life. I have gone from victimhood to resilience.
My life is not perfect, and I am not perfect. I still have bad days. I still have times of self-doubt. The difference is, I don’t stay there for very long anymore. I focus on loving and healing the aspects of me that are hurting without judgment and condemnation of myself.
It can be done. It will be so. Many will support you on your journey to True Power, but you have to be the one to take the first step.
